Passenger Cars

Many passenger services have been discontinued, but there is also a market for refurbished and repainted set used for private
journeys, conferences etc. (the so-called "Joyful Trains"). In some cases, locos have also been painted in matching colours.
Sets have working tail lights on the end cars.

12 Series 'Banetsu Monogatari (Story)'

Hauled by a restored C57 class steam loco, this train started running in 1999 across the middle of island Honshu from Niitsu,
near Niigata, to Aizu-Wakamatsu, near Lake Inawashiro.
